ஸைமண்ட்ஸ் குரங்குதான்; ஹர்பஜன் நிறவெறியாளர் இல்லை
ஒரு வழியாக ஹர்பஜன் விவகாரம் (தற்காலிக) முடிவுக்கு வந்திருக்கிறது.
கூடுதல் சாட்சியங்களும் ஆதாரங்களும் வாதத்திற்கு எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்படும் என்று சொல்லி நீதிபதி விசாரனைக்கு முன்னால் கொஞ்சம் சூடு கிளப்பிவிட்டார். ஆனால் அவரைப் பார்ப்பதற்கு முன்னாலே இந்தியர்களும் ஆஸ்திரேலியர்களும் ஒரு முடிவுக்கு வந்துவிட்டார்கள். ஏற்கனவே சொல்லிவைத்தபடி ஹர்பஜன் குரங்கு என்று சொன்னது உண்மைதான் அதற்காக இரண்டரை நாள் சம்பளத்தை எடுத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள் என்று ஒத்துக்கொண்டுவிட்டார். ஆஸ்திரேலியர்களும் “ஆமாம் நாங்கதான் அவரைக் குரங்குன்னு சொல்லத் தூண்டினோம்” என்றும் சொல்லிவிட்டார்கள். ஹர்பஜன் தலைக்கு வந்தது டர்பனைக்கூட சாய்க்காமல் போய்விட்டது.
இதை ஆஸ்திரேலிய கிரிக்கெட் நிர்வாகம் மடத்தனமாகக் கையாண்டுவிட்டது. (For once…). கும்ளே எப்பொழுது ப்ராட் ஹாக் மீதான குற்றச்சாட்டைத் திரும்பப் பெறுகிறேன் என்று சொன்னாரோ உடனே ஆஸ்திரேலியா சரி, ஹர்பஜன் தவறையும் மறந்துவிடுவோம் என்று சொல்லியிருக்க வேண்டும் (தீர்ப்பு வழங்கப்பட்டு ஏற்கனவே மறுபரிசீலனையில் இருக்கிறது என்பதெல்லாம் வெற்று. ஆஸ்திரேலிய நிர்வாகம் தீர்மானமாக இதையெல்லாம் மறந்துவிடலாம் என்று சொல்லியிருந்தால் ஐஐசியும் கும்ளே, பாண்டிங், பெருந்தன்மைக்கு மதிப்பு கொடுக்கிறோம் என்று அவர்களது பெருந்தன்மையை நிலைநாட்டியிருப்பார்கள். அதைவிட்டுவிட்டு கடைசிவரை நின்று, பிறகு வழிந்திருப்பது முட்டாள்தனம்.

இலங்கையணியும் - குறிப்பாக அர்ஜூன ரணதுங்காவும் இந்திய சார்பாக இப்பிரச்சினையைக் கையாள முற்பட்டது ஏனென்று தெரியவில்லை. இலங்கை அணியும் முக்கோணத் தொடரிலிருந்து வெளியேறக்கூடும் என்ற அனுமானத்தை ரணதுங்கவின் கருத்து ஏற்படுத்தியிருந்தது.

1. The Australians are free to provoke anyone in the name of sledging for without fear of retribution.
I don’t think so. They provoked Harbhajan and when retaliated they made an issue out of it. Had they got their way (Harbhajan labelled racist and Aussies went scot free) what you say may be the case. But now that they are not able to have the way they wanted, they will think twice about indulging in sledging.
2. The Australians by having “forgiven” Harbhajan end up having a moral high ground on racism - of all the things!
Yes, had they ‘forgiven’ Harbhajan they would have stood a moral high ground (despite unjustly so). They had an opportunity to do when Kumble forgave, but missed hitting that full toss out of the ground. That’s whey I said they handled it badly (for themselves)
Yes, the whole issue is a farce. I was only ranking who handled it better for themselves.

ரணதுங்கவுக்கு ஆஸ்திரேலியாவுக்கு எதிரான ஜென்மப்பகை இருக்கிறது. கிடைத்த சந்தில் புகுந்து சிந்து பாடுகிறார். இதுவும் இந்தியாவுக்கு சாதகமாகப் போய்விட்டது. (இதற்காக தக்க சந்தர்ப்பத்தில் அவர்கள் ரணதுங்கவை தனியாகக் கௌரவிப்பார்கள்)
I am surprised! I thought you had written this in a sarcastic tone.
If Harbhajan indeed abused Symonds willingly/knowingly racially, he needs to be punished! At the same time, the current clause on which Harbhajan is found guilty should be applied to Symonds and Brad Hogg.
As it stands now,
1. The Australians are free to provoke anyone in the name of sledging for without fear of retribution.
2. The Australians by having “forgiven” Harbhajan end up having a moral high ground on racism - of all the things!
BCCI is a power-corrupt, filthy-rich, inept and value-starved body.
