Reading Tamil RSS Feeds

Over the past few days, several people in tamilblogs yahoo! groups discussed about the best method to get RSS feeds. Several tools were suggested that will involve, commerical, semi-commercial and free solutions. Some even prefer to go to Yahoo! to read the Newsfeeds. Here is my GNU solution for that. It is very fast and elegant. If you need a proof, look into my screenshot, showing Pari’s Blog. How To Read Tamil RSS Feeds
1. Grab the latest and the greatest browser Firefox from the Mozilla Project (available for all platforms, free – as in beer and speech) and Install.
2. Get the RSS Reader Panel Plugin for Mozilla (just click in their link to install automagically)
3. When you see “RSS Feed”, “Syndicate This Site”, “Atom Feed”, “XML syndication” type of links in any page, just click to open the xml page (it may not be readable).
4. Bookmark that XML page (not the blog URL).
That’s it. Done!
From then onwards you can just click on the name in the RSS side bar of your browser. It will fetch the blog headers in the panel below. If you hover your mouse over any entry you will see the gist appearing in a box. Click on the entry to read the full item in the main window.
It is also possible to export the XML script of your friend exported and just importing them in your RSS Reader. If several people join together, it may also be possible to write a central updated XML watchlist (like the MovableType Spam blacklist, I implemented just yesterday), that anyone can grab and import into his browser.
