This one was in my lawn for about an hour. I had time to go up, bring camera, switch to zoom lens and shoot a couple of shots.
This was photographed in a small private safari in South Dakota. The wikipedia says, they can survive in sub-zero temperatures for years, in absolute darkness for five months per year, and without food for weeks.
