This is a test document. I can be bold, italic or both. To underline I need to be none.

I will be cut and paste. I will be cut and paste.

I cannot have line width changed in the middle of the document. That is is bad.

The myth of the new India

Piracy will get you ten years while child pornography only seven

The Inquirer reports the details of the current draft of new DMCA awaiting legislation.(Piracy worse than child pornography).

“For example assaulting a police officer will get you five years, downloading child porn will get you seven years, assaulting without a weapon will get you ten years and aggravated assault six years.

So in other words if you copy a Disney CD and sell it you will be in the same league as a paedophile who is distributing pictures of sexual attacks on children.

If you copy Craig David’s CD you get ten years, but if you punch him in the face and pummel him into a seven day coma you will only get six. You are more likely to get the respect of the prison population with your six year sentence as well.”

Greed knows no limt.

BBC’s new experiments with content and distribution

Guardian reports that BBC website is in for a major revamp, shortly. BBC unveils radical revamp of website.

Great!  In the copyright dominated world, BBC stands out and the present administration is experimenting various strategies for sharing contents - in as many ways as possible.  I am fully aware that most of these BBC’s efforts will be restricted to UK only.  (As it is run by direct license fee from its viewers in UK).  But, I still hope BBC suceeds in its experiments for it may propel other media megaliths to free content - at least to some extent.

BBC will rebrand and introduce a new iPlayer for downloading the content, Guardian says.  I hope they also release versions of iPlayers for other platform like Mac and Linux.

Paint-on laser could rescue computer chip industry
But this isn’t a laser in the stereotypical sense — no corded, clunky boxes projecting different coloured lights. In fact, Professor Ted Sargent, of the Edward S. Rogers Sr. Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, carries a small vial of the paint used to make this laser in his briefcase — it looks like diluted ink.
